“Traveling Smooth and Fluid in the Shoot-Step

The footwork here is called a “shoot-step”. The movement must be smooth and fluid. You should be “light and heavy” at the same time, i.e. both agile and powerful. You should not make much noise as your feet land on the ground.

“Traveling Circling, Reverse-Circling and Spear-Shoot

Can you recognize that there are three techniques here? These three techniques are known in Chinese (Cantonese) as “hoein-kam-cheong”, which literally means “circle-cover-spear”. They are circling, reverse circling and spear-shoot.

“Traveling Rotation of the Waist

Rotation of the waist is important. As in an unarm strike, the spear-shoot starts from the back foot, is controlled by the waist, and completes at the tip of the spear. The should be the three external harmonies of feet, body and hands, and the three internal harmonies of essence, energy and mind.

“Traveling Generating Internal Force

The rotation of the waist is now shown in detail. Like Black Tiger punch and the diagonal chop of a saber or Butterfly Knives, the shoot of a spear is executed by rotating the waist. Besides other benefits, the waist rotation generates internal force from the dan tian (energy field) to the spearhead.

“Traveling From Dan Tian to Spearhead

You have heard of spiral force that issues from a punch. But have you heard of spiral force from a spear. The principles are the same. In this video Grandmaster Wong shows how to generate spiral force from the dan tian to the spearhead.

“Traveling Poisonous Snake Basking in Mist

Here is another secret in a deadly technique. The pattern is called “Poisonous Snake Basking in Mist”. The combat principle here is similar to that in “Returning Horse Spear Technique”. When executed skillfully, it catches an opponent by surprise.
The size of the video clip is 1.26 mb.

“Traveling Golden Beam Supports Sea

The first pattern shown in this video clip, “Lohan Flicks Oranges”, comes after the last pattern in the previous video clip, which is “Poisonous Snake Basking in Mist”. What do you think the pattern “Golden Beam Supports Sea” is used for? It is a block against a downward chop of a bladed weapon, but not applied in the way many people think it is.
The size of the video clip is 1.41 mb.
