Traveling Dragon Spear – Part 7
ONCE YOU HAVE THE SKILLS, LEARNING TECHNIQUES BECOME FAST AND EASY
Participants spend much time practicing basic skills before learning techniques
Our school is noted for learning kungfu sets very fast. While it is a norm to learn a kungfu set in a few months, our participants in intensive as well as regional courses learn a set in a few days.
More significantly they can perform kungfu sets reasonably well although they learn them in a short time. This may sound boastful to other people, but it is true. Participants in this weapon course, for example, learn three new weapon sets as well as their combat applications in five days.
One important reason why we can achieve this result is because we pay much attention to basics. By basics, we include fundamental skills like being relaxed and focused, generating energy flow, and attaining the six harmonies in our performance.
In learning the Traveling Dragon Thirteen-Technique Spear, for example, we pay much attention to mastering basic skills like circling and shooting the spear. When we have mastered the skills, learning the relevant techniques become relatively easy and fast.
