Review of the Special Shaolin Kungfu Course of 16th to 22nd April 2007 – Part 82

MANIFESTING THE ENERGY AND SPIRIT OF YOUR FORM
The Dragon Form is Flowing, its Energy Powerful, and its Spirit Penetrating

Shaolin Kung Fu

Grandmaster Wong explaining the Dragon's spirit and enetgy to George and Daniel

Each form has its own characteristic energy and spirit. The Dragon forms are graceful and flowing, yet very powerful because the Dragon’s energy is diffused all over the body. The Dragon’s spirit is calm but penetrating.

If you wish to bring your kungfu to another level, you should manifest the energy and spirit of your form. This, of course, needs to be initiated by a master. As evident from the videos, the course participants of the Special Shaolin Kungfu Course have accomplished this feat very well.

“Shaolin Walking the Talk

In Shaolin Wahnam we do not merely talk but also walk. Grandmaster Wong does not merely talk about the Dragon’s spirit of chi, but demonstrates it. Notice the visible difference between the two performances of the same patterns where one has the Dragon’s spirit and the other lacks it.
The size of the video clip is 0.65 mb.

“Shaolin Correct Repetition to Progress

Acting on Grandmaster Wong’s teaching, George enhances the performance of his Dragon patterns. Instead of performing the corrected movements only once in his sequence, he repeats it for consolidation. Correct repetition is a key to progress.

“Shaolin The Spirit of the Dragon

George and Daniel apply their combat sequences in pre-arranged sparring. Their forms radiate the “spirit of chi”, i.e. radiate an invisible but perceptible force. The “spirit of chi” is flowing and elegant, which are characteristics of the Dragon, and are quite different from the “spirit of chi” of the Tiger shown earlier.
The size of the video clip is 0.53 mb.

“Shaolin Enhancing the Dragon’s Spirit
